Marie Curie (1867-1934), winner of Physics and Chemistry Nobel prizes.
Without her and her husband’s work in radioactivity, medicine would not have X-rays or many other life-saving diagnostic equipment.
However, her work comes with the sacrifice of not knowing the harmful effects from radiation poisoning, causing her to pass away due to radiation induced leukaemia.
Thank you for being a hero.
oHashi Trio to end the day. :)
I never did get why a shoe shop would be called “Athlete’s Foot”.
Maybe tinea pedis never existed prior to that? Or maybe it was called something else when the store started up?
Business still goes on.
Modern Family
I was so fascinated at my foot X-rays even though I was experiencing some chronic pain.
Sick. I mean sick-good not so much sick-in-the-head sick.
Come to think of it, I have a history of frequent partial arousals during sleeps, which included sleep walking and talking (many funny stories have resulted from that). My family lets me know when that happens and sometimes happened as often as 4 times in a week.
I have not been told that I slept walked or talked since, but I still wake up quite tired and have issues maintaining alertness during the day despite a good 7-8 hours of sleep. I just wonder whether it’s just the modern day tiredness issue or me being a hypochondriac. It may not be even relevant, but I feel a general malaise for about a couple of months now. By the way, I have bruxism as well as a mouth guard.
May just see my GP to see what he/she thinks. Maybe she’ll bugger me off for being too worried.
Bryster yawns.

What is the biology behind bonding behaviors among individuals? Biological Psychologists have it that the hormone, which is released by the posterior pituitary gland, is responsible for mating behaviors. In a study, it was found that rats, both sexes, were more likely to mate if injected with Oxytocin. Whereas, when Oxytocin was knocked out, the rats show lack of interest in any other rats including amnesia to any previous rats they have copulated with.
It has been suggested, that psychopaths can be treated with a injection of Oxytocin.
Also, oxytocin helps prevent postpartum bleeds and works in conjunction with prolactin for breastfeeding. So lets say you get a female-pregnant-insane-breastfeeding patient, you’ve got a triple threat treatment there. :)
